L2 is a HSE-recognised Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body, our team provides Employers in Great Britain with advice on compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and in Northern Ireland in accordance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 (IRR(NI)17). Appointment and advice is required from a RPA if work is carried out in an atmosphere containing Radon Gas at an annual average activity concentration in air exceeding 300 Bq/m3, it also requires that Employers notify the applicable regulator.

L2 help Employers by providing advice on assessment of Radon Gas levels including development and implementation of Radon Gas Monitoring Programmes using passive detectors and real time calibrated Radon Gas instruments and then interpretation of the results. L2 helps Employers develop Radiation Risk Assessments and suitable Management Systems/Procedures including Local Rules and Contingency Plans. We also practical advice on the mitigation measures if needed, along with requirements for examination, maintenance and test of mitigation measures. L2 is able to provide specific Radiation Awareness/Radiation Protection Supervisor training for work in Radon Gas atmospheres.
